Glasswall Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification: Strengthening Defense Sector Commitment

Zero Trust file protection provider validates cybersecurity posture for defense operations, supported by Security Ideals as advisory partner

WASHINGTON — April 2, 2026 — Glasswall, an industry-leading provider of intelligent Zero Trust file protection solutions, today announced it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2. The certification, awarded on March 3, 2026, validates its commitment to safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and meeting the cybersecurity standards required by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The certification was achieved with the support of Security Ideals, a cybersecurity and AI governance firm that helps companies operationalize security and compliance programs.

CMMC 2.0 requirements are now being phased into DoD contracts, with Phase 2 requiring Level 2 certification for most contracts involving CUI by November 2026. CMMC Level 2 maps to 110 security practices aligned with NIST SP 800-171, and organizations that achieve certification early are positioning themselves to maintain and expand their eligibility for defense contracts as enforcement accelerates.

For Glasswall, whose patented Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR) technology is already mandated for use as a file filter in Cross Domain Solutions by the NSA, the certification reinforces its standing as a trusted, proactive security partner within the defense industrial base. Glasswall’s Zero Trust technology is deployed by U.S. defense and intelligence agencies, and this certification validates that the company applies the same rigorous cybersecurity standards to its own operations.

“Protecting our customers’ most sensitive data has always been at the core of what Glasswall does, and achieving CMMC Level 2 certification demonstrates that we hold our own operations to the same standard,” said Steve Roberts, CFO / COO of Glasswall. “As the Department of Defense expands CMMC requirements across its contracting base, this certification ensures Glasswall is well-positioned to continue supporting defense missions with confidence.”

Security Ideals served as Glasswall’s advisory and implementation partner throughout the CMMC readiness process, leading a comprehensive program that included: gap assessment against NIST SP 800-171 requirements, enclave scoping to define the certification boundary, evidence organization and documentation, and assessment preparation and support.

“Glasswall is exactly the kind of organization that sets the bar for what CMMC readiness should look like. Their security culture is already embedded in how they operate, and formalizing that through Level 2 certification was a natural extension of their commitment to the defense industrial base,” said Nick Gibson, Founder & Principal of Security Ideals. “Our team was proud to support Glasswall through the readiness process and to see that preparation translate into a successful outcome.”

Both Glasswall and Security Ideals remain committed to supporting organizations across the defense supply chain as CMMC requirements continue to evolve. Glasswall’s CMMC Level 2 certification is part of a broader security assurance program that reflects its mission to deliver proactive, zero-trust protection to government and commercial clients worldwide.
